Suzuki Celerio, Alto

Subcompact hatchbacks are known for their simplicity. Most, if not all, of these cars lack certain features, where safety is a part of. With this, Suzuki Philippines levels up the safety technology of the Alto and Celerio models.

“We are delighted to share the upgrades for the Celerio and Alto compact cars. These upgrades are a testament to Suzuki’s commitment to continuously improve its product portfolio and ensure that new and existing customers get the best of the Suzuki Way of Life. We are very happy to be providing more features focused on safety.”

For the Alto 800 STD, anti-lock brake system (ABS) and dual front airbags are now available as standard. It comes with Suzuki's Total Effective Control Technology (TECT), which are high-tensile materials that is said to let the car achieve a quality rigidity despite having less body weight.

On the other hand, the Department of Energy's (DOE) 2016 Fuel Economy Run top performer Celerio also gets the brand's TECT feature for added collision protection. The TECT feature is a notable addition to the Celerio’s reverse parking sensor that was integrated in June.

Along with the updates, the Celerio retains its current standard features, such as the dual front airbags, ABS, and its 7-inch multimedia touchscreen entertainment system.

As a review, the subcompact hatch was dubbed by the DOE as the most fuel-efficient gasoline car last year, where it was able to top 69 other vehicles with a 29.14 km/l economy rating.
