2017 Suzuki Swift Sport

Suzuki is hyping up the 2017 Swift hatchback with a sportier variant that is ready to receive attention at the 67th IAA Frankfurt Motor Show. As a review, the all-new Swift nameplate, now on its 3rd generation, first appeared to the public in December last year.

We can all agree that the 2017 Swift is a whole lot different than the previous 2 generations, starting from the first one which came out in 2005. The all-new hatchback from the Japanese marque boasts curvier contours as compared to the outgoing model. It now has a hexagonal grille that dominates its fascia, alongside the new headlight design.

The new Sport variant is given bigger fog lamp vents that are now separated, compared from the ones on the regular Swift. As you can observe in the pictures below, the grille is even bigger and more pronounced on the Swift Sport. The hatchback also gets eyebrow-like lines above its headlights, which extends toward the grille. Lastly, a front bumper diffuser for added aerodynamics wraps the entire front end of the car.

There are no information yet regarding its power rating. All we know is that the current generation with the regular trim cages a 1.0L and 1.2L gasoline engine, and a mild hybrid motor. Although, according to Suzuki more details will be available at the show's press conference.

We may still have yet to see a 2017 Suzuki Swift on our local roads, but that doesn’t take any possibilities off the chart. All we can do for now is wait until Suzuki Philippines makes formal announcements about when exactly it will hit the local shore.
