Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has added a sleeker variant for the local-spec Avanza MPV. We are talking about the 2018 Avanza Veloz that debuted at the 2015 Indonesia International Auto Show.
Basically, the upgrade reveals no changes on the technical side of things. Rather, what's evident on this variant are the more aggressive design of the front and rear bumpers. From the looks of it, the Avanza Veloz is TMP’s answer to the Honda Mobilio RS Navi.
The front end features a sportier layout of the grille with intricate pattern on its opening. On the rear, a spoiler adds depth on the tailgate, while the round rear reflectors replace the rectangular ones on the regular model.
On the cabin are a series of upholstery, trim, and devices upgrades. Starting with the theme, the 2018 Avanza Veloz features an all-black interior. The steering wheel and shift knob are wrapped in leather, while the door handle and air-conditioning vent trims are in chrome. For technology, the infotainment is blessed with a touchscreen display, complete with GPS navigation.
The 2018 Avanza Veloz bears the same 1.5-liter engine present on the current G variant. It puts out 102 hp and 136 Nm of torque, and is paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission. So, technically, it's the 1.5 G Avanza suited for a sporty personality.
Price for the 2018 Avanza Veloz is set at P1,025,000. It comes in 4 colors: Black Metallic, Silver Metallic, White, and the new Red Mica Metallic.
