Volkswagen Philippines officially launched the new variants of the Golf - the Highline and the Comfortline. In a nutshell, they are casual, more affordable versions of the GTI.
Both models are powered by a 1.4L 4-cylinder turbo gasoline engine putting out 150 hp with 250 Nm of torque, attached to a 7-speed DSG transmission. Its nickname ‘hot hatch’ is no exaggeration as it goes from 0-100 km/h in 8.2 seconds before hitting a max speed of 216 km/h. The engine also has a start/stop function, saving fuel in every possible situation.
Standard in both models are electronic stabilization program, seven airbags, engine drag torque control, electronic differential lock with XDS, and regenerative braking system.
The Highline variants enjoys added features such as Vienna leather seats, 2-zone air conditioning system with rear vents, Bi-Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights, dynamic headlight range adjustment with dynamic cornering lights, and auto headlight activation.
The Volkswagen Golf is available in the following colors: Pure White, Sunset Red Metallic, Limestone Gray, and Deep Black Pearl; while Pacific Blue is exclusively available for the Comfortline variant.
Pricing is P1,739,000 for the Highline while the Comfortline has a sticker price of P1,590,000.
