Volvo sold 503,127 units worldwide in 2015 and to celebrate, Volvo Philippines is giving customers a P500,000 discount on selected vehicles this summer.
From April 15 to May 31, 2016, customers will be able to enjoy a P500,000 discount when they buy a Volvo S60 R-design sedan, V40 R-design hatchback, XC60 R-design SUV, or the XC90 SUV.
The S60 R-design is a premium sedan powered by a 2.0L diesel engine putting out 181 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The V40 R-design hatchback has a 1.6L gasoline turbo engine that features Volvo’s City Safety technology which prevents collisions via sensors and automatic brake application. The XC60 R-design has a similar feature, but can also detect vehicles who suddenly swerve in front of you, or pedestrians and cyclists.
The XC90 is credited as the main driver for growth for the Swedish brand with its balance of power and aesthetic. It runs on either a 2.0L gasoline engine with 320 hp and 400 Nm of torque, or a 2.0L diesel engine with 225 hp and 470 Nm of torque. Both are attached to a 6-speed Geartronic transmission which lets you switch to manual shifting whenever you want.
The S60 is available for P3,095,000 while the V40 R-design has a P2,795,000 tag, and the XC60 is priced at P4,295,000.
Founded in 1927, this is the first time in Volvo’s history where they got past the 500,000 mark in units sold. The future also looks bright for the company, posting an 11.5 percent growth in March, thanks to 52,279 sales globally.
