Did you know that Volvo has been actively involved in the world of golf for more than 2 decades? And in order for the brand to continue that presence in the country, Volvo Philippines hosted its first-ever Volvo National Alumni Cup last May 28, 2015 at the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club.
Among those who competed are graduates from top-ranking schools in the country and abroad. This includes alumnae from the Aquinas School, Asian Institute of Management, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde, De La Salle University, Far Eastern University, Philippine Military Academy, Philippine National Police Academy, University of Sto. Tomas, University of the Philippines, University of the East, and lastly Stanford University.
This friendly competition which aims to benefit the less privileged has called upon amateur golfers consisting of 5 players per team, each having a valid USGA Handicap Index as of April 2015. It was played on an 18-hole Stroke-Play competition using the modified Stableford (Molave) scoring system.
Along with the fun and camaraderie, players were delighted to compete for the keys of an all-new Volvo V40 as the Hole-in-One prize. More interestingly, the winners got to choose which school received the scholarship fund from the proceeds of this golf match.
