Nissan Navara

Nissan released a video featuring one of its best-selling nameplates—the Navara. Titled ‘Steel to Wheels: Bangkok’s Navara’, the 5-minute episode gives us a glimpse on how this tough pickup truck is built from the ground up.

As shown in the video, the Navara is built in Nissan’s Plant 2 facility in Thailand. Over 1,400 locals are employed to oversee the entire manufacturing process, which includes metal stamping all the way to quality tests and checking.

According to Nissan, the Navara plant is responsible for building an estimated 113,644 units per year, accounting for 57.6% of exports from Thailand. The pickups are then sent to 105 destinations, including the Philippines.

As a recap, the Nissan Navara, which is one of AutoDeal’s Most Popular Vehicles in 2016, boasts its “go anywhere” capabilities, thanks to its 243 mm ground clearance, 5-link rear suspension, and fully-boxed ladder frame. Moreover, this pickup has a 2.5L power unit that can squeeze out a maximum of 190 hp and 450 Nm of torque.

Steel to Wheels is a global initiative by Nissan to highlight the people and processes behind key products and plants. To see how this beast is built, watch the video below.
