Grab Drive Your Car

Grab released a new feature in Thailand, and it’s called the Drive Your Car service. It’s essentially an on-demand chauffeur service that’ll have a Grab driver come and pilot your car for you.

All you need to do is book through the app like any normal transaction, and a man in a green uniform will come to your location and drive your car for you.

Since the service hasn’t launched in the Philippines yet, we figured we do some preparation, and got some ideas as to what would we do if the feature went live in the country, if at all.

Wrenches

So how this works is you bring your car to the office, book, then have the driver take it to the service center. After work, book a normal grab to where your car is and drive home after all is said and done. Remember to have an ID ready to indicate that you’re picking the vehicle up, or just ask the service center to expect you and your car.

This could work if you still need to report to the office, and can’t take a day off to attend to your vehicle’s service. You should also have a good relationship with your service center in order to do this. Make the attendants aware that someone else will be bringing in the car, with a payment to follow.

Back Seat View

Wouldn’t you want that red carpet experience? Who wouldn’t? The experience of having a driver, even for just a day, is a relaxing experience. This time, you can choose the car that you want to pull up with.

The benefits are also evident before you even arrive at your destination. You can sit back, relax, do your make up, fix your hair, and use your phone because you’re not the one driving. You can also nap, which leads us to our next item.

Sleeping in the car

It’s like teleportation, but with a side of relaxation. You can fall asleep as soon as you depart and arrive at your destination like when you fast travel in a video game. This option is for those who pull all-nighters, be it in college or at work. If you find yourself too tired to drive, book a driver and sleep in the car on the way to your next destination. Studies show that driving drowsy is actually more dangerous than driving drunk, and we figure…

Party

This is the main reason why Grab Thailand chose to launch this feature close to the holiday season. Undoubtedly, a lot of us will be out gathering and partying with friends and family. Many celebrations will more often than not, have more than just a glass of alcohol waiting for eager guests when they arrive. Let’s say that the night progresses and you come out of the venue a little too inebriated. You drove all the way there, but now you’re drunk, but you still need to get home.

Whether you’re tired or drunk, it’s still better to have someone sober behind the wheel. Lean on the side of caution, and don’t take the chance because not only will you endanger your own life, but also the lives of those around you. Book a Grab driver, he’ll bring you and your car safely to your house.

So with all of these in mind, what task would you use this feature for?
