The brand made its local debut with three models, the fuel-powered E5 sedan, the all-electric E-Qute 04 hatchback, and the X7 plug-in hybrid 7-seater SUV. These vehicles are built for everyday use, offering practical options for city driving, long-distance travel, and family mobility.

The global brand behind it, Yibin Kaiyi Automobile Co., Ltd., was established in 2014 as a former subsidiary of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. It is based in Yibin City, Sichuan Province, and is the only carmaker in the province licensed to manufacture both fuel-powered and new energy vehicles. Its production plant opened in 2019 with an annual capacity of up to 250,000 units. The company now exports to over 30 countries and regions, including Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, and South America, and currently employs around 3,000 people. Kaiyi also operates with over 500 global dealers and 800 service centers worldwide.

Kaiyi's local lineup is simple and easy to understand. The E5 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with a CVT.
