About Lamborghini Philippines

Igniting from Ferruccio Lamborghini’s desire to outclass the already well-established Ferrari, Lamborghini was founded on October 30 1963 in the small town of Sant’Agata Bolognese.

Lamborghini complained regarding his Ferrari 250 GTO’s clutch and was taken negatively by Enzo Ferrari himself. The Italian tractor industry expert Ferruccio Lamborghini then decided to show Ferrari and the rest of the world how to properly build a sports car with a smooth-working clutch.

That endeavour succeeded with his very first car, the 1963 Lamborghini 350GT. The success of the 350GT paved the way for the global automotive industry to take notice. It was followed by the legendary 1966 Lamborghini Miura. The introduction of the Miura was revolutionary, for it sported a beastly mid-rear-mounted 4.0L V12 engine, capable of letting out 385hp routed through a 5-speed MT spinning the rear wheels.

Ferruccio had an enormous admiration for the Spanish culture, especially bullfighting. Thus, for the years that followed, he named his supercars after the names and/or breeds of some of the Spanish bullfighting history’s famous fighting bulls. Even after his death in 1993, that tradition carried on.

In 1971, Lamborghini pulled the wraps off of the Countach, which have instantaneously gained vast amounts of respect for its revolutionary styling and performance, giving birth to the brand’s trademark wind-cutting wedge-style body design and LP engine layout. LP stands for “Longitudinale Posteriore”, which means that the engine is bolted lengthwise behind the driver, with the transmission mechanism running between the seats.

Automobili Lamborghini turned 50 in 2013, and along its timeline came more of the legends. Following the Countach, the Diablo debuted in 1991, then the Murcielago in 2002, and the Aventador in 2013.

After its ownership by Chrysler in 1987, Audi AG took over in 1998, and more than a decade had passed, it finally raged its way to the Philippines. Last Q3 of 2012 saw Lamborghini’s arrival with a showroom located along 11th Ave. Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Lamborghini Manila is under the command of the PGA Cars Inc., and have since gained spotlight from the nation’s passionate automobile enthusiasts.
