About Mahindra Philippines

Mahindra was founded at Ludiana in 1945 by the brothers K.C. Mahindra and J.C. Mahindra with Malik Ghulam Mohammed as a steel trading company. A few years later, Mohammed emigrated to Pakistan leaving the company to the brothers who changed its name to Mahindra & Mahindra. The company then expanded to manufacturing and selling Multi Utility Vehicles (MUV) under the license of the Willie's Jeep. In 2011, Mahindra acquired Ssangyong Motor Company which helped spread the Indian company's presence in more than 90 countries which now includes the Philippines.

Mahindra Cars Philippines is exclusively distributed by Asiabrands Motors Corporation, a company under the Columbian Group of Companies, which also distributes brands like Kia, BMW, and Peugeot. They made a huge impact into our country's automobile industry by winning a deal with the Philippine National Police (PNP). They are supplying 1,470 units of configured Bolero pick-ups, which is called the Enforcer. This serves as PNP's official patrol vehicle.

In the future, Mahindra plans to expand its dealership throughout the Philippines. Their current 3 dealerships are now open to both sales and service, and are located in Metro Manila. They plan to expand that to the South, specifically Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, and Butuan.
