About Maxus Philippines
Maxus Philippines is one of the newer brands to come ashore to the country. The once British-owned company is now owned and manufactured by Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC Motor). The Ayala Corporation (AC) is responsible for marketing and distributing Maxus Philippines under AC Industrials and its automotive distribution and retail group AC Motors.
Three triangles comprise the logo of the Maxus Philippines. These symbols represent the three pillars upon which the company stands on: technology, confidence, and progress. The brand originated from the LDV brand which was a British-based vehicle manufacturing company. One of its models was the LDV Maxus. The name that transitioned from being a model name to being the name of the brand, when the Maxus became wholly owned by SAIC Motor in the year 2010. Currently, Maxus is distributed in Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and Africa, while being marketed under the LDV brand in the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.
SAIC Motor is the largest automotive company registered on China’s A-share market. Its vision is to “Build an innovative, globally-recognized company that pioneers the automotive future.” SAIC Motor's business covers R&D and vehicle sales of passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and vehicles powered by alternative sources of energy. The company is a leader in the research and development of intelligent driving technology and artificial intelligence. As of July 2018, the company ranks 36th in the Fortune Global 500.
Maxus is known for its selection of vans and commercial vehicles. The firm aims to offer value-for-money offerings that cater to the Filipino people. Maxus Philippines entered the country in 2019, led by Maxus Philippines CEO Arthur Tan, President Felipe Estrella, and General Manager Reginald See.
Maxus Philippines’ first products in the Philippines are the Maxus V80 passenger and commercial vans, along with the Maxus G10 minivan.
