With the absence of BAIC's entry-level M20 MPV in the Philippine market, comes the M50S nameplate. While this is not considered as a replacement for the late MPV, it is a significant part of BAIC's M series models. Built in the Changhe Plant, this sleeker and sportier Changhe emblem-bearing model is counted on to fortify the Chinese brand's Philippine fleet. Not to mention, this model is specifically built to suit the needs of Filipino car buyers. Slightly larger than the M20, the M50S features minor exterior updates if compared to the M20. The grille features vertical billets. It also boasts sportier bumpers and wheel design. Headlights, side profile, and other things M20 owners love are still found in the M50S. Additionally, there are 14-inch aluminum alloy rims perfectly fitted inside the wheel arches. Inside, you'll be greeted by Micro Fiber Leather all throughout the cabin. The cockpit, on one side, features a collapsible three-spoke steering wheel with chrome-plated logo. All variants get keyless entry system, electric accelerator pedal, and push start button for added convenience and luxury. Comfort is maximized by dual-zone air-condition system in front and and at the rear, while entertainment is supported by a 9-inch touchscreen display with Bluetooth, MP5, and radio via 4 speakers. Under the hood is a 1.5-liter engine that puts out 114 hp and 150 Nm of torque. This mill is paired to a 5-speed manual engine, which makes the car capable even with the 520 kg payload capacity. The M50S can achieve a maximum speed of 150 km/h.
