The BYD Atto 2 EV is BYD's most accessible electric crossover in the Philippines, distributed through AC Mobility. It is a compact five-seat crossover built around BYD's Blade Battery technology, offering a pure electric NEDC-rated range of 380 km with Vehicle-to-Load capability as standard — a feature more commonly found on larger and more expensive electric vehicles. It is offered in a single Premium variant, fully loaded, making the buying decision straightforward for buyers entering the BYD ecosystem for the first time.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
The Atto 2 EV measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,674 mm in height, riding on a 2,620 mm wheelbase with 150 mm of laden ground clearance and a 5.3-meter turning radius. Curb weight is 1,510 kg, and cargo capacity ranges from 433 liters to 1,335 liters with the rear seats folded. Seating capacity is five.
Power comes from a single front-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor producing 174 hp and 290 Nm of torque. The zero to 100 km/h sprint takes 7.9 seconds, and top speed is rated at 160 km/h. Four drive modes are available: Economy, Normal, Sport, and Snow.
The battery is a 45.1 kWh BYD Blade Battery using Lithium Iron Phosphate chemistry, offering an NEDC-rated range of 380 km. Charging is via a CCS/Type 2 port, with a maximum AC charging rate of 7 kW and a maximum DC charging rate of 65 kW. A full AC charge from 0% to 100 percent takes 7.4 hours, while DC charging from 10 percent to 80 percent takes approximately 24 minutes. Regenerative braking is standard, and a portable charging cable and wall-mounted charger are included. Vehicle-to-Load capability is standard, and a V2L adapter is included in the box.
Suspension is a MacPherson strut front and torsion beam rear setup, with disc brakes at both ends, an electric parking brake, and auto brake hold. The Atto 2 EV rolls on 215/65 R16 alloy wheels and includes a tire repair kit in place of a spare. Steering is Electric Power Steering with tilt and telescopic adjustment.
Technology Features
The Atto 2 EV's infotainment centerpiece is a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen running BYD's DiLink ecosystem, supporting Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, USB connectivity, and Bluetooth handsfree calling and audio streaming. A 6-speaker audio system and an integrated voice assistant are standard. The system supports 4G connectivity, over-the-air software updates, and BYD Cloud Service access. The steering wheel integrates controls for the camera, cruise control, multimedia playback, voice commands, and a multi-information display. Keyless Smart Entry with Keyless Start and NFC card access are both standard, along with push-button start and stop, speed-sensing door locks, and all-window one-touch up/down power windows with anti-trap protection.
Exterior
The Atto 2 EV is fitted with a full LED headlamp suite featuring auto on/off, manual height adjustment, and a Follow Me Home function, along with LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, LED rear fog lamps, and an LED high-mount brake lamp. Side turn lamps are integrated into the door mirrors. Door side mirrors are power-folding and power-adjustable with heating. Front wipers are variable intermittent, and a rear windshield defogger is standard.
Interior
The Atto 2 EV uses leather seating with soft-touch panels on the interior trim. The driver's seat is 6-way power-adjustable, the front passenger seat adjusts 4-way manually, and the rear bench is a 60:40 split-fold type. The instrument cluster is an 8.8-inch LCD display. Air conditioning is an Auto Climate system with Heat Pump for added efficiency in both warm and cool conditions, with a PM2.5 filter as standard. Rear air vents are fitted as standard.
Additional interior appointments include map lights for front and rear passengers, driver and passenger sun visors, grab rails, a center console compartment, a luggage compartment light, 4 front and 4 rear cup holders, and a roof glasses storage box. Front and rear USB charging ports (Type-A and Type-C) are provided, along with a 12V power socket.
Safety
The Atto 2 EV is fitted with driver, front passenger, far-side, and side curtain airbags for comprehensive occupant protection. Three-point ELR seatbelts are standard for all seating positions, with a front seatbelt reminder. ISOFIX child seat anchorage is provided at the front row.
Active safety systems include Traction Control System, Electronic Stability Control, Anti-Lock Braking System, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Brake Override System, and an Electronic Anti-Theft System. Regenerative braking is also adjustable.
The driver assistance suite includes a 360-degree View camera with See-Through Mode, 6 parking sensors covering 2 front and 4 rear positions, and standard Cruise Control. Note that advanced ADAS features such as autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping, and adaptive cruise control are not included on this variant.
