Launched just last October 2013, BYD Philippine is one of those Chinese car brands which have yet to prove their mettle against the giants in the country’s motoring industry. But as early as now, they have shown a great potential to lead the way in terms of innovation by introducing the F5 Suri Compact Sedan. Unveiled at the 2014 Manila International Auto Show, this eccentric car of robotic proportion boasts not only the style and performance to square it off with the Toyota Vios, Hyundai Accent, and Honda City, but it also has one trick off its sleeve that has those three giving a run for their money, for this car features a remote-driving key, which essentially turns it in to the country’s first “official” fully-functional RC automobile. Pinoys were wowed by its live demonstration in the MIAS, and were delighted to know that this car and all of its features, plus its unique RC function is actually available and is in production.
Possessing the basic exterior and interior necessities of a family compact sedan, the F5 Suri sports a 1.5L Direct Injection Turbo VVL Engine, spinning a dual-clutch transmission, giving this 5-seater compact sedan/RC car that much needed oomph.
