The Changan Alsvin is the brand lone subcompact sedan in its lineup in the Philippines. Being the lone passenger vehicle in the line it comes to the country available with three variants with two engine options. The entry-level model comes in the form of a 1.4-liter with a manual transmission while the other variants get a 1.5-liter engine and a 5-speed DCT. As a sedan, it comes well equipped with leather seats, a sunroof, a 7-inch infotainment system along with rear cameras just to name a few key features.
Launch
The Changan Alsvin was launched on November 26, 2020, and is available with two gasoline engines. a 1.4 and a 1.5 along with two transmission options a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed DCT. The subcompact sedan also launched with three variants available in the country. Notably, it is the only sedan that is available in the brand's local lineup of vehicles in the Philippines.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
The Changan Alsvin rides on a front-engine front-wheel-drive layout. It is powered by either a 1.4-liter or a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine. The 1.4-liter produces 99hp and 135 Nm of torque while the 1.5-liter motor produces 106hp and 145 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via either a 5-speed DCT or a 5-speed manual transmission. The Alsvin comes with a MacPherson suspension at the front and a torsion beam set up at the rear. stopping power comes from ventilated discs at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The subcompact sedan also comes with electric power steering and a manual parking brake.
Technology Features
The Changan Alsvin comes equipped with a 7-inch infotainment system as standard, however, it only supports Bluetooth and USB connectivity. a 2- or 4-speaker sound system is also available with the vehicle depending on the variant chosen. The subcompact sedan in its highest trim level also comes with an idle start-stop system that will help you save on gasoline.
Exterior
The Changan Alsvin comes equipped with projector halogen headlights as standard for all of the variants available in the Philippines. Daytime running lights are also available with the vehicle, however, it can only be found on the Platinum trim level. The sedan also comes with a chrome or black grille depending on the variant, and a choice of 14 or 15-inch wheels depending on the variant.
Interior
The Changan Alsvin comes with two seat material options as standard, the first is the fabric for the lower variants, and the second is leather for the Platinum model. The sedan also comes with 4-way manual seat adjustability for the lower models, while the highest trim level gets 6-way manual adjustability. The vehicle also comes with manual airconditioning controls, sun visors, electric adjust side mirrors, power door locks, and a center armrest with a storage box for the Platinum model.
Safety
The Changan Alsvin comes equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and a tire pressure monitoring system as standard for the entire lineup. other safety features include an electronic stability program, hill hold control, and reverse parking sensors. A reverse camera and a blind spot view camera and monitor are also present in the vehicle for its higher trim.
