The Chevrolet Groove RS is a five-seater subcompact crossover that runs on a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with DVCP and MPI. This engine can produce up to 148 hp and 255 Nm of torque at 3600 rpm. It is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), sending power exclusively to the front wheels.
The Groove RS has a total length of 4,365 mm, a width of 1,750 mm, and a height of 1,610 mm. The wheelbase measures 2,550 mm, with a hefty ground clearance of 155 mm. The Groove's cargo carrying capacity comes in at 436 liters with the rear seats up and can expand up to 1,120 liters with the rear seats folded. The standard tire size is 215/55 R17 with two-tone alloy wheels, and it comes with a T135/80 R17 spare tire.
Inside, the Groove offers a range of modern features, including a 10.25-inch infotainment system, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, passive entry and start, and a suite of advanced driver-assist systems.
Launch
Chevrolet Philippines officially launched the new Groove RS on July 30, 2025. Serving as the brand's newest subcompact crossover offering, it offers a bold design with modern tech and safety features at an accessible price point. The Chevrolet Groove RS aims to provide a complete driving experience without stepping into premium price territory. With its compact size, fuel-efficient engine, and smart infotainment system, the new Groove RS is set to attract drivers looking for everyday practicality wrapped in a stylish, connected, and safety-ready package.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
The Groove RS uses a MacPherson strut front suspension and semi-independent torsion beam at the rear. It comes with ventilated front disc brakes and solid rear disc brakes. The engine is a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with Dual Variable Cam Phasing. Maximum power is rated at 148 hp, and maximum torque is 255 Nm. The engine is mated to a CVT, which drives the front wheels.
Meanwhile, the steering system includes electric power steering with tilt adjustment and a multifunction steering wheel. The vehicle also comes with a spare tire sized at T135/80 R17, which supports temporary use up to 80 km/h.
Technology Features
The Groove RS' feature set includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, AM/FM radio, and vehicle controls. It has six speakers positioned throughout the cabin. Rear passengers also get their own 12V outlet. There are two USB ports in the front and one in the rear, including Type-A and Type-C ports.
The instrument cluster is a seven-inch TFT digital display. Smart entry is paired with a push-button start system and immobilizer. The electronic parking brake includes auto hold. The rearview mirror is a manual anti-glare unit, and the rear camera includes dynamic parking guidelines.
Exterior
The Groove RS is equipped with LED headlights with auto lighting, cornering lamp, and IntelliBeam high beam assist. The taillights are LED and sequential. Front fog lamps are halogen, while the rear lamps are LED. The turn signals are built into the side mirrors, which have power adjustment, auto fold, heating, and gloss black covers.
Other exterior elements include rain-sensing front wipers, shark fin antenna, roof rails, and a dual exhaust system with functional tips. The model also comes with a power sunroof and rear combination lamp setup with integrated fog and brake lights. The wheels are 17-inch alloy rims with a two-tone design.
Interior
The Groove RS uses leather-style seats with red stitching. The driver gets a 6-way power-adjustable sport seat, while the front passenger gets a 4-way manual seat. The rear seats are foldable in a 60:40 split. Rear passengers get a retractable cargo cover.
The cabin includes sunvisors with vanity mirrors, front and rear seatback pockets, and a console with storage between the front seats. Interior lighting includes a room lamp, an overhead lamp, and a rear cargo lamp. Cabin temperature is managed via electronic rotary controls paired with standard A/C vents for efficient airflow.
Safety
The Groove RS is equipped with six airbags covering the driver, front passenger, sides, and curtain areas. It has ABS, electronic brake force distribution, traction control, hill-start assist, and brake assist. ISOFIX child seat tethers are included for the rear seats, along with a rear power door lock and speed-sensing door locks.
Driver assistance systems include forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, emergency lane keeping, and automatic emergency braking. The cruise control system is adaptive and supports traffic jam assist. Rear parking sensors and a reverse camera help with maneuvering in tight spaces.
