The Geely EX2 is a fully electric subcompact hatchback designed to make urban mobility more accessible. Built on a dedicated electric vehicle architecture, it combines compact dimensions with a surprisingly spacious cabin, modern technology, and a driving range suited for everyday commuting. Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
The EX2 is built on Geely's Global Intelligent Electric Architecture (GEA), a platform developed specifically for electric vehicles. Measuring 4,135 mm long, 1,805 mm wide, and 1,580 mm tall, it rides on a 2,650 mm wheelbase that helps maximize interior space despite its compact footprint.
Power comes from a rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 114 hp and 150 Nm of torque. The motor sends power exclusively to the rear wheels through a single-speed transmission. Energy is stored in a lithium iron phosphate battery pack, allowing the EX2 to achieve a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 325 km and a NEDC-rated range of up to 395 km.
Performance figures include a 0 to 50 km/h sprint of 4.6 seconds, a 0 to 100 km/h time of 11.5 seconds, and a top speed of 130 km/h. The suspension system consists of MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear, contributing to a balance of ride comfort and handling stability that is uncommon in the entry-level EV segment.
Technology Features
The Geely EX2’s tech package begins with a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system running Geely's Flyme Auto operating system. This is complemented by an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster that provides essential driving information in a clear and modern format.
Connectivity features include Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth integration, USB Type-A and Type-C ports, and wireless charging on select variants. Audio is delivered through either a four-speaker or six-speaker sound system depending on specification. The infotainment system also serves as the primary interface for various vehicle functions, helping create a clean and uncluttered cabin layout.
Exterior
The EX2 adopts a clean and modern design that reflects its electric nature. Smooth body surfaces, rounded edges, and minimalistic styling cues create a contemporary appearance while also improving aerodynamic efficiency. Its compact dimensions make it easy to maneuver through crowded city streets, while the crossover-inspired stance gives it a more substantial road presence.
Lighting is fully LED, with the vehicle equipped with LED headlights, daytime running lights, taillights, and turn indicators. Other exterior features include heated side mirrors, frameless windshield wipers, a Follow Me Home lighting function, and a high-mounted stop lamp. Higher-spec variants can also be equipped with a contrasting roof finish and two-tone exterior color combinations for a more youthful look.
Interior
Inside, the EX2 takes advantage of its dedicated EV platform to create a cabin that feels larger than its exterior dimensions suggest. The flat floor design and long wheelbase contribute to generous passenger room, particularly for rear-seat occupants. Seating capacity is rated for five passengers, while cargo space measures 375 liters and can be expanded to 1,320 liters when the rear seats are folded.
The cabin features vegan leather upholstery, a multifunction steering wheel, a front center armrest with integrated cupholders, rear reading lamps, and rear air-conditioning vents. Ambient lighting with up to 256 selectable colors adds a more premium atmosphere, while ISOFIX anchors provide additional convenience for families. Depending on the variant, the driver's seat may be manually adjustable or feature six-way power adjustment.
Safety
The Geely EX2 comes equipped with a comprehensive range of safety systems designed to protect both occupants and pedestrians. Standard features include Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control System, Hill Start Assist Control, and Hill Descent Control. Tire pressure monitoring, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, child safety locks, and automatic speed-sensing door locks are also included.
Occupant protection is provided by front airbags, side airbags, and curtain airbags. Higher-spec variants add an advanced driver assistance suite that includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent High Beam Control, and a 540-degree camera system. Together, these technologies help make the EX2 one of the more comprehensively equipped vehicles in its class when it comes to active and passive safety.
