The Haval Jolion is an SUV model produced by Chinese automobile manufacturer Great Wall Motor (GWM). Haval is a sub-brand of GWM dedicated to producing SUVs and the Haval Jolion is one of their offerings in the extensive Haval line.
Though it is the smallest in GWM’s stable here in the Philippines, the Jolion is characterized by its bold and distinct exterior styling, which combines sleek lines, muscular proportions, and an aggressive front grille. With these styling cues, the Haval Jolion brings a sense of strength and presence on the road. Inside, the interior of the Haval is designed to provide comfort and convenience to occupants, with spacious seating arrangements, and a range of advanced features.
In terms of performance, the Haval Jolion offers two powertrain options to cater to different preferences and needs. Here in the Philippines, it is available with either a 1.5-liter, turbocharged engine producing 141 hp and 220 Nm of torque or a Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) that has a combined output of 186 hp and 375 Nm of torque. Both powertrains are gasoline-powered and are paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission for the pure internal combustion variants or a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission for the HEV variant

Great Wall Motor Philippines held a launch for their new fleet of offerings in April 2023. The Haval Jolion joined two other vehicles in this launch, namely the HEV Haval H6, and the GWM Cannon pickup truck. At launch, the Haval Jolion is available in four variants, all under the P1,600,000 price range.

The Haval Jolion rides on GWM’s Lemon platform, according to GWM, the Lemon platform is a highly intelligent modular technology platform that provides the following advantages: flexibility, high performance, high safety, and low weight.
Depending on which variant you choose, the Jolion is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine or a 1.5-liter Series-Parallel combined HEV. The pure ICE Jolion puts out 141 hp and 220 Nm of torque while the HEV variant can put out 186 hp and 375 Nm of torque. The ICE variant is paired with a seven-speed Wet Dual Clutch Transmission, as for the HEV variant, it is paired with a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission.

As standard, the Haval Jolion is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen head unit that is capable of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless connectivity. Complementing this infotainment system are four speakers scattered throughout the car. Choosing the Max and Supreme variants of the Jolion will net you a 12.35-inch touchscreen and a six-speaker system. Air-conditioning with rear vents is standard for the Jolion while a Dual-Zone automatic air-conditioning system is available on higher variants.
Exterior
The Haval Jolion is a compact SUV that features a modern and sleek exterior design, combining a sporty and stylish appearance with elements of ruggedness. Up front, the Jolion’s front fascia is characterized by a wide grille with GWM’s Star Matrix design and slats that blend with the bumper. The grille is flanked by stylish LED headlights, giving the vehicle an aggressive look. The lower bumper area includes fog lights at the sides and a wide air intake, further enhancing the sporty appeal.
Looking from the side, the Jolion has a roofline that gently slopes towards the rear. The windows are framed by chrome accents, behind these accents you’ll spot the roof rails of the compact crossover. Depending on the variant, you can have 17 or 18-inch alloys on the Jolion which feature a sleek multi-spoke design. At the back, LED taillights flank the sides, these taillights incorporate a T-shape that flanks an emblem of Haval emblazoned on the rear bumper.

GWM’s five-seater crossover features an interior that offers a comfortable and stylish environment for the driver and passengers. depending on the trim level and options chosen, the seats may be upholstered in fabric or leather. The dashboard of the Jolion features a clean and modern layout. Inside you’ll find a combination of soft-touch materials, sleek lines, and metallic accents. For entertainment, the Jolion comes equipped with an advanced infotainment system that includes a touchscreen display. This system supports various features such as navigation, smartphone integration like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, and USB ports for audio and device charging. Cooling is provided by either a manual or automatic air-conditioning system with front and rear vents as standard.
Safety
Standard safety equipment on the Haval Jolion includes a Driver Fatigue Monitoring System Event Data Recorder, ISOFIX anchors, and tethers, ABS brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Brake Assist, Hill-Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Traction Control, and Cruise Control.
Found on the top Supreme and HEV variants are some more advanced features like a Secondary Collision Mitigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Center Keeping Assist, Intelligent Cornering Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Change Assist, and Automatic Crash Unlock Function which activates in the event of a collision.
