The Hongqi HS3 is a five-seater compact SUV that has a modern design, advanced features, and practical daily use. Built for younger drivers, the HS3 brings a sleek and sporty look with a smart mix of comfort and control. The HS3 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four gasoline engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
The HS3 is built on a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout and uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 168 hp of power and 258 Nm of torque. It can go from zero to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds. Fuel consumption is rated at 5.35 L/100 km under WLTC. It runs on 18-inch tires with a size of 235/55 R18 and comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The car uses a McPherson suspension at the front and a multi-link suspension at the rear, offering a good mix of comfort and stability.
Technology Features
The HS3 includes a smart driving system with Around View Monitor (AVM) and intelligent cruise control (SACC), helping the driver stay aware of surroundings. Its digital displays include a 12.6-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch instrument panel. The vehicle has features like a rain-sensing front wiper, automatic parking, engine start/stop, automatic window/sunroof closure when locked, and multiple drive modes (Comfort, Eco, and Sport). A 120 km/h speed warning and electronic gear lever round out the convenience features.
Exterior
The HS3 features a modern exterior design inspired by Hongqi’s signature “flying wings” and lit logo. Lighting is all-LED across the headlamps, daytime running lights, and brakes. It also includes features like automatic headlights, follow-me-home function, rear reading lights, and interior ambient lighting on the dashboard, door panels, and footwells. Intelligent high-beam control is available, while options like welcome lighting and black-painted roof add extra style.
Interior
Inside, the HS3 keeps things simple but premium. It uses imitation leather seats and offers 6-way power adjustment for the driver and 4-way power adjustment for the front passenger. Rear seats fold and recline for added flexibility. Automatic air-conditioning with dual-zone settings and a negative ion generator help keep the cabin clean and comfortable. The steering wheel is made of PVC or leather, manually adjustable, and comes with multimedia buttons. A 12.6-inch infotainment screen pairs with either 8 or 10 speakers depending on the variant. The car also comes with USB sockets in the front and rear, wireless phone charging (15W), and keyless entry with push-start.
Safety
Built with a strong 9H4M frame using 64% high-strength steel, the HS3 is designed for passenger safety. It has airbags for the front, side, and curtain areas, as well as smart seatbelt systems with pre-tightening and force-limiting functions. The SUV includes advanced safety systems like Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward and Rear Collision Warning (FCW, RCW), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), and Door Open Warning (DOW). Other systems include TPMS with pressure display, front and rear parking sensors, fatigue monitoring, and hill-start assist.
