Hyundai Stargazer Overview
The Hyundai Stargazer is the 5th vehicle to enter the Philippine market under the brand's refreshed lineup from 2022. It marks Hyundai's entry-level to the MPV segment with this five to seven-seater vehicle. It comes available in three different variants with the lower models being available as 5-seaters and only the top-of-the-line variant being available as a 7-seater. All models are powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine that produces 112hp and 144 Nm of torque. All variants also come with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) as standard. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities are also standard across the model range.

The Hyundai Stargazer was launched for preselling on October 19, 2022, and was made available with three variants at lunch. All models come powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline motor which is paired with an intelligent variable transmission. The vehicle also came with an initial starting price of P998,000 for the GL model. It officially was launched to the public on November 2, 2022.

Powering the Hyundai Stargazer is a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine that produces 112hp and 144 Nm of torque. All variants of the MPV come equipped with a CVT as its only gearbox option that sends power to the front wheels. It rides on a MacPherson Strut system at the front and a CTBA suspension system at the rear. Stopping power comes from 15-inch discs at the front and 9-inch drum brakes at the back.

For its tech, the Hyundai Staria comes with an 8-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also comes with a digital instrument cluster for its higher models and with a 6-speaker (2-tweeter+4-speaker) sound system available for the higher variants. The GL model only gets a standard radio with a mono LCD and 4-speakers. It also doesn't get the digital instrument cluster but instead comes with a conventional display with a 3.5 TFT LCD for its trip computer.

The Hyundai Stargazer utilizes the latest design language to come from the South Korean automaker. It comes with sloping sleek lines at the front that resemble its bigger brother the Staria and comes with a unique front design. As for its lighting, only the GLS Premium model gets LEDs while the rest of the model range gets halogen headlights. Higher variants of the car also get fog lamps, auto light control, and daytime running lights. Higher models also LED rear combination lamps and a black and chrome grille. Lower models stick to a body-color grille with blub-type taillights. As for its wheels all models are available with 16-inch rims that come with either a monotone or a two-tone design depending on the variant chosen.

On the inside, the Hyundai Stargazer comes with a minimalist cabin that has plenty of storage space. Its seats can be had in leatherette or fabric depending on the model chosen with a 6:# split double folding and sliding second row available for all variants. A center armrest is available, however, this feature can only be found on the GLS and GLS Premium variants. As for its air conditioning system, all variants come standard with manual temperature controls with rear vents also being available to cool the rear passengers.

The Hyundai Stargazer boasts a substantial amount of safety features for its top-of-the-line model. However, as standard, the MPV gets dual airbags and ABS available for all models. The GLS model gets additions such as electronic stability control and hill start assist. The GLS Premium takes it a step further and adds the following features to those already found on the GLS model, it has high beam assist, blind spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist, driver attention warning, safe exit warning, forward collision-avoidance assist, a tire pressure monitoring system, manual speed limit assist, parking distance warning, rear view monitor, rear seat alert with monitor, lane following assist, and child seat anchors. In 2022, the Hyundai Stargazer was crash tested by the ASEAN NCAP, achieving a total safety rating of 4/5 stars. The Stargazer scored 31.21 in Adult Occupant Protection, 14.41 in Child Occupant Protection, 12.04 in Safety Assist and finally, 8.75 in Motorcyclist Safety for a total of 66.48 in the total score for a four star safety rating.
