The MG4 EV Urban is MG Motor Philippines' most accessible electric vehicle, sitting at the entry point of the brand's growing electrified lineup. Positioned as the brand's most affordable EV, it is not a replacement for the existing rear-wheel drive MG4 but a separate, front-driven companion model aimed at buyers making their first move into electric motoring. It is a five-door compact hatchback with a clean, modern design, a WLTP-rated range of 325 km, and a standard equipment list that includes wireless charging, a large touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay. It is priced at P1,198,888, with an introductory price of P1,148,888 for the first 100 buyers. It is offered in a single variant.
Launch
The MG4 Urban made its Philippine debut at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show, where MG Motor Philippines revealed it alongside the MG RX9 PHEV and MG HS PHEV. It is distributed by MG Motor Philippines and is available through authorized MG dealerships nationwide. Buyers who purchase within the launch period also receive a 7 kW wall charger valued at P30,000 for free.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
The MG4 Urban measures 4,395 mm in length, 1,842 mm in width, and 1,551 mm in height, riding on a 2,750 mm wheelbase. It is a front-wheel drive hatchback seating five passengers.
Power comes from a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor producing 163 hp and 250 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels through a single-speed automatic transmission with cruise control. Four drive modes are available: Eco, Normal, Sport, and Custom, and one-pedal drive is supported. Regenerative braking can be adjusted across four levels: Low, Medium, High, and Adaptive.
The battery is a 43.2 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate unit with a WLTP-rated range of 325 km. AC charging is rated at 6.6 kW, taking approximately 7.5 hours from 20 percent to 100 percent. DC fast charging is rated at 82 kW, bringing the battery from 20% to 80% in around 35 minutes. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality is also supported at 3.3 kW.
Suspension is a MacPherson strut front and torsion beam rear setup, with ventilated disc brakes at the front and solid disc brakes at the rear. The MG4 Urban rolls on two-tone alloy wheels with aero covers wrapped in 195/60 R16 tires. A tire repair kit is provided in place of a spare. Steering is electric power-assisted with tilt and telescopic adjustment.

Technology Features
The 12.8-inch touchscreen is the MG4 Urban's technology centerpiece, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The smart entry system allows keyless access and push-button start. A wireless phone charger is fitted as standard. The voice recognition system covers multimedia and telephone functions. Bluetooth connectivity is standard throughout.
Exterior
The MG4 Urban wears a smooth, contemporary hatchback body with a low nose and flowing roofline. Automatic LED headlights with auto high beam and a Follow Me Home function are standard, alongside LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, and a rear fog light. Side mirrors are heated and power adjustable, and the front wiper is variable intermittent. The signature Union Jack-inspired taillight graphic gives the rear end a distinctive visual identity that references MG's British heritage.
Interior
Inside, the MG4 Urban receives a 7-inch TFT digital display as the instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch central touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Four speakers handle audio duties. The steering wheel is a urethane-rimmed unit with an electronic parking brake and auto hold fitted as standard. A day/night rearview mirror is also included.
Seating is in synthetic leather, with 6-way manual adjustment for the driver, 4-way manual adjustment for the front passenger, and a 60/40 split-fold rear bench. Cargo volume is 382 liters with the rear seats up, expanding to 1,266 liters with them folded. There is also 98 liters of underfloor storage.
Comfort and convenience features include automatic climate control with rear vents, all-around auto up/down power windows, a smart entry system, and a wireless mobile phone charger.
Safety
Six SRS airbags are fitted, covering driver, front passenger, side, and curtain positions. Active safety systems include ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist, an Electronic Stability Program with Traction Control System, rear parking sensors, a rear view camera with dynamic guidelines, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. ISOFIX child seat anchors are also fitted.
