The MG ZS is a compact five-seater crossover with sharp looks, smart features, and practical everyday use. It’s available in different variants, including a non-turbo gasoline version, a turbocharged model, and a Hybrid+ option. Each one offers its own setup for power and comfort, depending on what the driver needs. This is a city-friendly car with just enough edge to feel sporty, especially in the higher trims.
Power comes from a 1.5-liter engine in all variants. The non-turbo versions make 141 PS and 141 Nm of torque. The turbocharged 1.5T puts out 170 PS and 275 Nm. Meanwhile, the Hybrid+ model combines a 102 PS gasoline engine with a 100 kW electric motor, producing a total of 197 PS and 250 Nm of torque. The non-hybrid versions use either a CVT or a 7-speed DCT, while the Hybrid+ uses a 3-speed hybrid transmission. All models are front-wheel drive. Fuel tank capacity is 41L, and emission ratings are either EURO 5 or EURO 6B.
The ZS includes either a 10.25-inch or 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Audio systems range from 4 to 6 speakers. The digital instrument cluster is available in either 3.5 inches or 7 inches depending on the model. There’s a push-start system, keyless entry, and one-touch windows with anti-trap for the driver. Air conditioning is automatic for most variants and includes rear vents. Charging is supported through USB ports and a 12V accessory outlet.
The ZS comes with projector LED headlamps, LED taillights, and LED daytime running lights. The lights support auto on/off, follow-me-home, and manual leveling functions. Some variants get intelligent high-beam control. Depending on the trim, wheels come in 16-, 17-, or 18-inch sizes, with different alloy designs. Other exterior features include roof rails, a sports spoiler, a printed glass antenna, and rain-sensing wipers.
Inside, the ZS is equipped with either fabric or leather PVC seats. Drivers get a 6-way manual or electric seat adjustment with lumbar support, while the passenger seat offers 4-way manual adjustment. Rear seats fold in a 60:40 split and include a center armrest with cup holders. A leather-wrapped steering wheel is standard in upper trims, along with a polyurethane or electronic gear lever. Sunvisors, storage pockets, ambient lighting, and a boot light are also available across variants.
All variants come loaded with safety features. The MG ZS is equipped with a full list of safety features. It has front, side, and curtain airbags, ISOFIX mounts, and driver/front passenger seatbelt reminders. It also comes with ABS, EBD, ESP, traction control, hill start assist, hill descent control, and active rollover protection. The hybrid and higher trims include MG Pilot safety tech, which adds lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert, and automatic emergency braking. There’s also a 360-degree view camera, rear parking sensors, and intelligent speed assist.
