The Suzuki XL7 is a crossover/multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) based on the popular Ertiga MPV. It differs from the Ertiga with its taller ride height and a different front fascia. It's SUV-looking, with a multitude of thick under claddings for a go-anywhere look. At the rear, the XL7 inherits the Ertiga's vertical taillights but with the addition of SUV elements like a skid plate and in some trims, a spoiler.
The XL7 comes with seating for seven in a 2-3-2 configuration. It has a black and gray color theme, almost similar to that of the Ertiga Black Edition' but with a little deviation in some aspects. Powering the XL7 is a 1.5-liter K15B gasoline engine – the same engine found in the Suzuki Ertiga and Jimny.
Suzuki Philippines launched the XL7 in tandem with the quirky Suzuki S-Presso back in March of 2020. The 7-seater based on the ever-popular Suzuki Ertiga.
Powering the XL7 MPV is Suzuki's K15B 1.5-liter gasoline engine. The small-displacement powerplant produces 103 hp and produces 138 Nm of torque. Power for the vehicle is sent exclusively to the front wheels via a traditional 4-speed automatic. The XL7 rides on MacPherson Strut and coil suspension at the front with coil springs and a torsion beam and coil spring setup at the rear. Stopping power comes in the form of ventilated disc brakes at the front and leading and trailing drums at the rear. The platform that the XL7 is based on is the same as the Ertiga, dubbed Suzuki's HEARTECT architecture. The 7-seater rolls on a set of 16-inch wheels that are diamond cut in finish.

Driving the Suzuki XL7 is like driving the Suzuki Ertiga with extra ground clearance. With the same engine and more or less the same dimensions, the XL7 is every bit as easy to drive as its shorter brother. Coupled with the light steering and very relaxed engine performance, the 7-seater gets up to speed reasonably, and it also handles well enough given its height and its weight. Acceleration is as expected, it's not fast, but it does have a very smooth pull with good gear shifts. The 4-speed automatic may be dated, however the fuel economy figures of the vehicle already good enough to make up for it.
The technology inside the Suzuki XL7 starts with the massive 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. USB and Bluetooth also come standard for the lone model of the XL7, and Suzuki also bundles in a backup camera. Also standard is a set of 6 speakers that allow for good sound performance, and Suzuki also equipped the XL7 with automatic climate control. For the driver, a dual dial gauge cluster is present along with a TFT screen that can display various functions like power delivery, torque, g force, a tire pressure monitoring system in addition to just being a trip computer and odometer.
The Suzuki XL7 comes with Quad-chamber LED reflector headlamps that are paired to integrated LED daytime running lamps. At the rear, the MPV comes with 3D tail lamps with a light guide. Moving back to the front of the MPV, it features a front grille with a sweeping cross-bar with a chrome garnish. Front and rear skid plates with side claddings are also present on the vehicle adding to its SUV-like appeal. Roof rails, back door chrome garnishes, chrome-plated door handles, and glossy black alloy wheels complete the XL7's look.
The Suzuki XL7's interior comes with a black and gray color theme. Black dominates the cabin while gray colors the pillars and the headliner of the vehicle. Silver accents can also be seen across the dashboard and on the door sides of the front doors of the MPV. The seats come in black material and can either be had in cloth or leather. The second row of the XL7 comes with a one-touch recline and slide function, while the third row that comes in a 50:50 format comes with a split and recline function.
Sliding armrests are present in the vehicle for both the front row and the second row. The front row gets the benefit of a utility box. Adjustable headrests are present in the vehicle for all the rows. Door handles come in a chrome finish. For the owner's convenience, the MPV comes with a split type luggage board at the back. An overhead console with a map lamp and sunglass holder is also present in the vehicle. Completing the premium look of the vehicle is a soft touch premium roof lining.
Safety kit for the XL7 includes driver and front passenger airbags along with 3-point seatbelts for all passengers. Traction control and stability control also come standard, as does ABS and an engine immobilizer, hill hold control, and ISOFIX tethers.
