April 2011. It was in the 7th staging of the annual Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) when Volvo Philippines unveiled their entry for the station wagon (estate) segment, the Volvo V60. From bold and boxy to curvaceous and sexy, the V60 has gone a long way indeed, while still retaining that family-oriented functionality it is well-known for. Picking up styling cues from the S60 sports sedan, the V60 definitely has that sportswagon aura, further cutting itself loose from the traditional stereotypical image of what an estate should be.
There have been mixed views geared towards the V60, especially because of the rising popularity of the trendy SUV and crossover segments, but in general, the V60 estate still captures the hearts of the Filipinos. After all, we Filipinos like it tough, durable, and versatile, while still experiencing elegance and all that.
