Changan enters the growing plug-in-hybrid sedan segment with one of its own. Meet the Changan Nevo A05 PHEV. This sharp, futuristic sedan is powered by a front-mounted electric motor delivering 212 hp and 330 Nm of torque.
This electric motor sources its energy from an 18.4 kWh battery that works in tandem with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, helping keep it topped up when the battery runs out of charge. This powertrain is capable of providing up to 130 km of pure electric driving range and up to 1,250 km of combined driving range with a full charge and full tank of fuel.
Inside, drivers and passengers get convenience features such as a 13.2-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch full TFT instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, tilt-and-telescopic steering, plus an electrically adjustable driver’s seat for the driver among many other features.
In terms of safety, drivers get a 540-degree virtual view camera with 360-degree recording capability, Integrated Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Front Collision Warning (FCW), Traffic Jam Assist, and Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) as part of its advanced driver assistance systems.
Other safety features include anti-lock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, an electronic stability program, a traction control system, brake assist, hill-hold control, and an electronic parking brake, among many others.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
The A05 rides on a Front Wheel Drive layout with a MacPherson independent setup in the front and a torsion beam independent system in the rear. Braking comes from ventilated discs in front and solid discs in the back. Steering uses an electronic power steering system that keeps things light in the city and stable at speed. Charging uses a Type 2 port, making it compatible with common charging setups.

A set of 17-inch alloy wheels completes the look. The trunk uses a key sensing release, so it opens conveniently when your hands are full.
Interior
Inside, the Nevo A05 leans toward comfort and practicality. The seats are upholstered in leather, with the driver getting a six-way electric adjustment and the front passenger getting a four-way manual setup. The flat fold rear backrest adds flexibility when you need cargo space. The steering wheel is leather-trimmed with tilt and telescopic adjustments. The car includes a day and night inside mirror, reading lights up front, and automatic windows for all passengers with anti-pinch protection. You also get a 12V socket, USB ports, and a rear window defogger.
Safety
Safety features cover the essentials and more. The car includes ABS, electronic brake force distribution, stability control, traction control, brake assist, hill hold control, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. It also includes speed sensing door locks, collision auto unlock, a full set of airbags for the driver, passenger, side, and curtain, ISOFIX anchor points, tire pressure monitoring, child lock, and central locking. The rear parking sensors help when backing up, and push start with keyless entry adds convenience. Instead of a full spare tire, the car comes with a tire repair kit.
