The JMC Touring, known overseas as the JMC Teshun, is a versatile light van that can double as a spacious people carrier, or a rugged and reliable business mover. Powered by a four-cylinder turbodiesel engine with common-rail direct injection technology, the Touring produces 107 hp and 355 Nm of torque with power transferred to the rear wheels via a Getrag six-speed manual transmission.
The Touring is available in two variants here in the Philippines, the seven-seater Short Wheelbase (SWB) variant, and the longer 15-seater Long Wheelbase (LWB) variant. Standard features include air conditioning, power windows, and a radio. Safety features include front and rear disc brakes with ABS and electronic brakeforce distribution.
Under the hood of the Touring lies a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine with common rail direct injection. The engine is paired to a six-speed Getrag manual transmission delivering power to the rear wheels. The Touring’s powertrain develops 107 hp and 355 Nm of torque. As for emissions, the Touring has an 80-liter fuel tank and is capable of meeting EURO IV emissions standards.
As for braking power, that is handled by a set of disc brakes on all four corners of the Touring, complemented by an anti-lock braking system and electronic brakeforce distribution
Being a practical people mover, the JMC Touring’s focus is more on space and versatility. Despite the utilitarian nature, JMC has fitted the Touring with features to make travelling comfortable.
The feature list starts with an air conditioning system, delivering cooling air around the Touring’s spacious interior. This is followed by power windows and a standard radio for entertainment. As for safety, the Touring is equipped with anti-lock brakes and electronic brakeforce distribution to provide an extra layer of safety with the van’s disc brakes.
The JMC Touring features a modern and practical exterior design that blends functionality with contemporary styling. At the front, it has a bold upright grille with chrome horizontal slats and the JMC badge at the center, flanked by large, angular headlights that give it a confident and assertive look. The high-roof body style and long wheelbase emphasize spaciousness, while the large side windows enhance passenger visibility and comfort. The short wheelbase version features the same design minus the high roof and a shorter body length. A sliding side door ensures easy access, particularly for group transport, and the clean, straight body lines are indicative of the Touring’s practicality.
Completing the look are durable steel wheels, while the front bumper incorporates a wide lower air intake for a balanced, purposeful appearance. Overall, the JMC Touring’s exterior design is focused on space, comfort, and versatility, making it suitable for both passenger and transport needs.
The interior of the JMC Touring is designed with passenger comfort and practicality in mind, making it ideal for group travel and transport services. The cabin is spacious, even in its SWB version, which allows for generous headroom and a more open, airy feel. Seating is arranged in multiple rows with individual, cushioned seats that feature fabric upholstery. Each seat comes with its own headrest and seatbelt, ensuring both safety and comfort for passengers. Large side windows allow ample natural light to enter the cabin, enhancing visibility and creating a pleasant travel environment. The flooring is flat and durable, designed to withstand heavy use while making movement inside the van easier. The wide sliding door provides convenient access for boarding and exiting, while the rear doors allow for flexible entry and luggage handling. Overall, the JMC Touring’s interior is practical, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged to accommodate passengers efficiently on both short and long journeys.
The safety features of the JMC Touring play a vital role in ensuring the protection and peace of mind of both drivers and passengers, especially during long trips or in busy urban environments. Equipped with front and rear disc brakes, the van offers strong and reliable stopping power, while the addition of ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) helps prevent wheel lock-up during sudden braking, improving stability and steering control. Complementing this is the electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) system, which intelligently adjusts braking force between the front and rear wheels based on load conditions, ensuring balanced and efficient braking performance.
