The Lynk & Co 08 EM-P is a five-seater plug-in hybrid SUV that combines a gasoline engine with a powerful electric motor. Launch
The Lynk & Co 08 EM-P is a recent plug-in hybrid model developed as a high-range hybrid option with a full electric drive mode, gasoline engine support, and multiple recharge options. The vehicle is supported by a 39.6 kWh NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) battery pack that can be recharged via AC or DC connections, with 6-hour charging via 6.6 kW AC or 30 minutes via DC fast charging from 30% to 80%.
It also supports V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functions at up to 3.3 kW, with an onboard 2 kW portable charger and a 7 kW wall charger. The 08 aims to offer a longer EV range than standard hybrids and gives drivers flexibility to use it as a full EV or rely on its gas engine as needed.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
The Lynk & Co 08 is powered by a plug-in hybrid system combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and a permanent magnet synchronous motor. Combined output is 375 hp and 615 Nm, with engine-only power at 161 hp and EV-only power at 215 hp. It uses a 3DHT Evo transmission and offers three drive modes: EV, hybrid, and power. Gear selection is handled via a stalk-type electronic gear shifter.
The battery is a 39.6 kWh NMC pack with regenerative braking and multiple charger compatibility (AC Type 2 and DC CCS2). Full charging time is listed at 6 hours via AC and 30 minutes via fast DC charging for 30% to 80%. The vehicle also supports remote charging functions and a smart battery management system.
Technology Features
The Lynk & Co 08 has a 15.4-inch infotainment display with an in-car camera. It supports Bluetooth, USB, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. A 23-speaker Harman Kardon sound system is installed with integrated headrest speakers. The instrument cluster is a 10.25-inch HD digital display. Connectivity includes smartphone compatibility, remote engine start, and intelligent key with facial recognition.
Convenience features include tri-zone climate control with remote ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, electronic glove box, and an electronic center console with passcode lock. There are multiple cup holders and storage bins in both front and rear areas. USB charging ports are available for both front and rear passengers, including 3 Type-C1 ports and a 15W wireless charger.
Exterior
The Lynk & Co 08 comes equipped with Matrix LED headlamps with adaptive lighting, auto on/off, auto leveling, and follow-me-home function. Daytime running lights are installed, as well as water flow turn lamps and penetrating cube LED taillights. The vehicle also includes rear fog lamps, high-mount brake lamps, and standard turn signals.
It rides on 21-inch aluminum alloy wheels fitted with Pirelli Scorpion 255/40 tires. Suspension consists of MacPherson struts with stabilizer bars in front and multi-link independent setup at the rear. Ventilated front discs and solid rear discs are paired with electronic parking brake, auto brake hold, and standard EPS with tilt and telescopic steering adjustment.
Interior
The cabin uses Nappa leather and microfiber vinyl with ambient lighting. Seats are ventilated and heated with massage functions for both driver and front passenger. The driver seat offers 8-way power adjust with 4-way lumbar, and the front passenger gets 6-way adjust with a memory function. The rear seats recline and follow a 60/40 split fold design.
Air filtration, rear vents, and automatic climate control help maintain cabin air quality. Lighting includes LED dome and cargo lights, map lights, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The cabin also includes grab rails, vanity mirrors, multiple charging ports, and a power tailgate with smart access.
Safety
The Lynk & Co 08 includes airbags for the driver, front passenger, side impact zones, curtain coverage, and rear passengers. Seatbelt reminders are available for all seats. ISOFIX mounting points are installed in the rear. Driver assistance includes adaptive cruise control, automatic parking, and a 540-degree camera system with transparent chassis view.
Key active safety systems include forward and rear collision warnings, emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane change assist, and blind-spot monitoring. Also equipped are rear cross-traffic alert and braking, driver attention monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and door opening warning.
