Maserati’s GranTurismo is a two-door vehicle that offers both electric and gas-powered versions. The car includes a traditional V6 twin-turbo engine and a fully electric system called Folgore, which uses three motors and 800-volt technology. The electric setup produces up to 761 horsepower and can reach a top speed of 325 km/h. The vehicle is designed to handle both short drives and long-distance travel.
Its purpose is to give users a smooth and steady ride while offering strong performance. The Folgore version uses a battery with a 92.5 kWh nominal capacity and a discharge rate of 560 kW. The layout of the battery helps the car stay low to the ground, which adds stability and improves acceleration. The gas version has a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with either 483 hp or 542 hp, depending on the variant, and uses an 8-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive.
The new GranTurismo was introduced as Maserati’s effort to carry over its long-running grand touring model into a new era. The Folgore version is the first fully electric car under Maserati, using Formula E technology and a tri-motor setup that brings racetrack systems to everyday roads.
Both the electric and gas-powered versions were released together to offer customers a choice between full electric and internal combustion. The Nettuno engine used in the V6 model first appeared in the MC20 sports car. This setup shows Maserati’s focus on making cars that can handle long distances without giving up performance.
The platform uses a lightweight build and low-sitting design to help the car stay steady at high speeds. The Folgore electric version uses three permanent magnet motors that allow energy to move quickly and evenly across the wheels. The setup also allows the car to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds.
For the gas version, the 3.0-liter V6 Nettuno engine uses pre-chamber combustion and twin spark plugs for stronger performance and lower fuel use. It can deliver up to 550 hp and reach a top speed of 320 km/h. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that works with an all-wheel-drive system for better grip.
The vehicle includes over 33 inches of digital screens. These are spread across the dashboard, center console, and digital cluster. Users can control features using touch, voice, or gesture commands. The system uses a 12.3-inch central screen and an 8.8-inch lower display, along with a digital dashboard measuring 12.2 inches.
Other tech includes the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) and the Maserati Connect app. These features let users control navigation, comfort settings, and more. The car also offers wireless smartphone integration for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Optional features include a head-up display and smart voice controls.
The design includes new full-LED headlights and a vertical front grille marked with the Maserati trident. It also features air vents on the side of the car and a clean body shape to improve airflow. The shape of the body lowers drag and increases stability at high speed.
At the rear, the vehicle uses updated taillights shaped like a mix of a boomerang and a harpoon, fully lit with LED. The front of the electric version sits lower due to battery layout, and the signature trident emblem is placed at several key points across the body.
The cabin comes in a mix of leather, fabric, Alcantara, and other technical materials. There are two main screen areas, split across the central display and the lower touch controls. A digital clock sits in the center of the dash. Some versions include seats made from ECONYL, a recycled material, and optional Alcantara trim.
Audio is handled by a system designed by Sonus faber. It includes subwoofers and sound materials that match the cabin’s finish. The gear shifter is moved to the dashboard for more space, and rear-seat space is enough for shorter drives or two more passengers. A panoramic sunroof and ambient lighting are also available on select variants.
Standard safety features include front and side airbags, a rear-view camera, and driver-assist tech such as lane keeping, emergency braking, and blind spot detection. Forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control are also part of the system.
The digital displays also help with safety by offering clear views of surroundings and driving data. The electric version benefits from better balance due to low battery placement, which improves handling in tight or fast turns. Parking sensors, automatic braking systems, and traffic sign recognition are available as well.
