The H9’s chassis features a longitudinal-engine layout with a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive configuration, riding on a 3,060 mm wheelbase. Structurally, it integrates a high-strength “9H” steel cage system and employs full air suspension to balance comfort and control. 

Engine options include a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four-cylinder that puts out 252 hp and 380 Nm of torque and a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 that puts out a hefty 337 hp and 445 Nm of torque. The 2.0–liter turbo engine is paired with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission, while the supercharged V6 engine transfers power to the drive wheels via a traditional eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Hongqi H9 offers a sophisticated array of technological features that enhance both convenience and luxury. The vehicle is equipped with electromagnet-assisted doors, providing a quiet and smooth opening and closing experience. Inside, the H9 boasts a multi-screen setup comprising a digital instrument cluster, a central touchscreen infotainment system, and a dual 12.3-inch rear entertainment display. 

Standard interior features include a 12-speaker Bose sound system, ambient interior lighting with 253 lights to choose from, an air quality sensor, and quad-zone automatic climate control to keep the interior cool and comfortable.

The Hongqi H9’s exterior combines refined design with precise engineering. Its front fascia is dominated by a large, waterfall-style grille, highlighted by a central red stripe that reflects the brand’s heritage. The grille is flanked by advanced matrix LED headlights, which work in tandem with integrated daytime running lights to offer consistent and highly effective illumination. The vehicle’s profile presents a balanced combination of presence and elegance, characterized by smooth, flowing lines and carefully sculpted surfaces. Measuring 5,137 mm in length, 1,904 mm in width, and 1,493 mm in height, the H9 maintains a commanding stance while adhering to proportions that convey both stability and sophistication.

The interior of the Hongqi H9 emphasizes comfort and refinement. Premium leather upholstery is complemented by wood trim, while ambient lighting extends across the roof, doors, and a subtly illuminated Hongqi logo, creating a sophisticated and immersive cabin environment. Rear passengers benefit from “luxury seats” that offer multi-function adjustments, including heating, ventilation, and massage features on higher trims.
