The Hongqi HQ9 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter mild-hybrid engine that delivers 252 hp and 380 Nm of torque, with power transmitted to the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Its suspension setup features a front MacPherson independent system and a multi-link configuration at the rear, providing a balance of comfort and handling stability. The vehicle is equipped with ventilated disc brakes on both the front and rear axles for reliable stopping performance. Additionally, the HQ9’s electric power steering is speed-sensitive, adjusting steering effort according to vehicle speed to enhance maneuverability and driving comfort.

The Hongqi HQ9 Executive features a 16.2-inch central touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, and electric-adjustable leather seats. Additional features include a push-start ignition system, a heads-up display, active park assist, and tire pressure monitoring. Other standard convenience and safety features include cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, blind-spot detection, and ISOFIX anchor points for child seats available in both the second and third rows of seats.

The Hongqi HQ9’s exterior is highlighted by a prominent waterfall-style grille with vertical slats, complemented by full-length daytime running lights integrated into the headlight assembly. The vehicle features LED headlights and DRLs, providing both modern styling and improved visibility. The body design remains consistent across all trims, with the Executive variant offered in several color options, including Gentian Violet, Dark Night II, and Mountain White.

The HQ9 rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and includes standard exterior mirrors, chrome trim accents, and sliding rear doors for easier access to the cabin. Additional premium exterior features include a power tailgate.

The Hongqi HQ9 is focused on practicality and comfort with its three-row, seven-seat configuration. The second row features two captain’s chairs, while the long 3,200 mm wheelbase provides ample legroom for all passengers. The Executive variant comes with standard electric-adjustable leather seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and other essential comfort features.
