Launched in the Philippine market in May 2016, the MINI Convertible features the brand’s distinctive design traits. Up front, it is fitted with round headlights, a honeycomb grille, and a muscular bumper. It also has a vented hood and circular fog lamps. The rear, on the other hand, is equipped with dual exhaust pipes and a large bumper.
Inside, the MINI Convertible has a black interior with red accent on the dashboard. It also comes with a 3-spoke steering wheel, a white-on-black instrument cluster, and a circular-themed center console. Since this is a convertible, the vehicle comes with an automatic and electronically powered soft top that can close and open in 18 seconds.
The MINI Convertible is available in 2 variants: MINI Cooper S Convertible and MINI John Cooper Works Convertible. Both variants are powered by a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine with the Mini’s TwinPower Turbo Technology. The former delivers 192 hp and 280 Nm of torque while the latter is rated at 231 hp and 320 Nm (340 Nm with overboost). The two variants are available with 6-speed automatic transmission. If you want to have a top-down motoring experience, then the MINI Convertible might be the vehicle for you.
