The Volvo EX30 is the smallest fully electric SUV in the lineup, but it still brings strong performance and smart features in a compact body. It’s built for city driving but has the power and range to handle long trips too. On a full charge, it can run up to 540 kilometers and uses around 17.5 kWh per 100 kilometers, which makes it one of the more efficient EVs out there. It also accelerates fast, going from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. Inside, the cabin stands out with its clean look, modern features, and the use of recycled and renewable materials. A soundbar replaces the usual speaker layout, stretching across the dash to give the cabin a fresh and uncluttered feel.
Volvo introduced the EX30 as part of its global move to expand its electric lineup. The SUV was launched with a clear focus on size, sustainability, and everyday function. It came with four design themes inspired by different elements of nature—Breeze, Mist, Pine, and Indigo. Each one has its own look and feel using different colors and materials, but all of them follow Volvo’s clean, nature-based design direction. In markets like the Philippines, it appeals to drivers who want something modern, electric, and practical, without giving up comfort or tech.
The Volvo EX30 runs on a 69 kWh battery that can charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 28 minutes using a fast charger. Despite being small, it delivers quick performance and smooth handling. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds, which is more than enough for both city roads and open highways. It also has a towing capacity of up to 1,600 kilograms, which adds to its everyday use. The compact size makes it easy to drive and park, while the platform and chassis are built to support the needs of an EV—quiet, smooth, and responsive.
The EX30 keeps things simple inside, with a 12.3-inch touchscreen in the middle of the dashboard. This is where you get all your driving info, controls, and entertainment in one screen. You can use apps like Google Maps, Google Assistant, and more through Google built-in. There’s also Calm View mode if you only want to see the basics while driving, but you can switch to a full view if you need more details. One standout feature is Park Pilot Assist, which lets the car handle parking on its own. It can steer, brake, and accelerate for you when parking. Instead of placing speakers around the cabin, Volvo placed a full-length soundbar across the front of the dash, giving the interior a clean and modern sound setup.
From the outside, the Volvo EX30 looks simple but sharp. It’s 4,233 mm long, 1,838 mm wide, and 1,550 mm tall, so it fits well in city streets but still has that upright SUV stance. It keeps a clean shape from front to back, with smooth lines and no extra bulk. The short overhangs and wide stance help give it a confident look while keeping the size easy to manage. The headlights and taillights follow Volvo’s usual design style, and the body stays true to the brand’s minimalist approach.
Inside the cabin, Volvo focused on keeping things clean and useful while using materials that are better for the environment. About 30 percent of the parts inside are made with recycled plastic, while other surfaces use renewable materials. The EX30 comes with four interior themes: Breeze, Mist, Pine, and Indigo. Breeze has soft colors and a calm look. Mist has more silver tones and crisp materials. Pine uses deeper colors and textures inspired by forests. Indigo is the darkest theme with a sportier and stronger feel. All versions are made to look simple and feel comfortable. The EX30 seats five people and has 318 liters of cargo space behind the back seats. There are smart storage areas placed throughout the cabin, and you also get lighting and sound options that let you choose the mood inside the car.
Just like other Volvo models, the EX30 comes with the brand’s usual focus on safety. It includes features like lane keeping support, automatic emergency braking, and other driver assist systems as standard. One feature that stands out is Door Opening Alert, which warns you if someone is about to open the door into the path of a cyclist or passing car. The car also helps with parking and general road awareness through different sensors and cameras. Even though it's a smaller SUV, it doesn’t hold back on features that help protect the driver, passengers, and people outside the car.
