The Hongqi E-QM5 Plus is the latest update to the E-QM5, a fully electric mid-size sedan built for smooth and quiet driving. It is designed with space, comfort, and practicality in mind while still incorporating modern technology features. This EV uses a front-wheel-drive layout and is powered by a 72 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery—the key upgrade from the previous model—which delivers a substantial increase in range, now rated at 560 km under the NEDC standard. In the Philippines, the E-QM5 Plus is positioned as a premium yet practical option for families and professionals, offering everyday convenience with a clean, all-electric drive.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
This model comes with a single permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 140 kW (187 hp) and 136 Nm of torque, paired with a single-speed automatic transmission. The setup is front-engine, front-wheel drive. With this configuration, the E-QM5 Plus can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds and has a top speed of 130 km/h. Energy is stored in a 54 kWh battery, providing up to 431 km of driving range under the NEDC standard. Charging options include DC fast charging (external adapter required), and energy consumption is rated at 13.5 kWh per 100 km. Extra safety measures include ISOFIX child seat anchors, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, driver fatigue monitoring, and uphill assist with auto hold. While it does not feature lane departure or blind-spot monitoring, the E-QM5 Plus provides reliable protection and confidence for daily driving
