As you probably know, the letter N means quite a lot to Hyundai and its followers. It’s none other than the brand’s high-performance line, which has had performance car enthusiasts from all over the world drooling for quite some time now.
Here in the Philippines, the N series has long been lusted for by Pinoy enthusiasts. And now, at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show, Hyundai Motors Philippines has made that dream into a reality. By launching not one, but two top-range models, HMPH caters to the desires of the local enthusiast market with the Elantra N and IONIQ 5 N.
Taking a closer look at the Elantra N, the sporty sedan is rocking a powerful engine: a 2.0-liter, turbocharged inline-four, delivering 276 hp and 392 Nm of torque to the front wheels. The Elantra N is offered with either an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. In terms of performance, the Elantra N can sprint from zero to 100 in under six seconds. Hyundai says that the Elantra N can reach a top speed of 250 km/h.
Along with the launch of the Elantra N in the local market, HMPH is also charging up the EV market with the IONIQ 5 N. This high-performance EV introduces a fresh category of driver-centric, high-performance electric vehicles, boasting cutting-edge tech and enhanced capabilities derived from Hyunda’s racing division.
The IONIQ 5 N is equipped with an 84 kWh battery pack and two electric motors generating a total output of 641 hp and a whopping 740 Nm of torque spread across all four wheels. This means that the IONIQ 5 N can rocket from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. Its top speed is a fairly impressive 260 km/h. Combine that with a stiffened chassis and aerodynamic upgrades, the IONIQ 5 N can electrify any racetrack it visits.
In terms of pricing and availability, the Hyundai Elantra N carries an SRP of P2,738,000 , while the IONIQ 5 N is priced at P4,250,000 . Be sure to check them out on our extensive car guide, and be among the first to drive Hyundai’s top-tier performance vehicles.
