Ford Motor Company recently hit a major milestone with its F-Series of trucks. The automaker announced that it was able to sell over 40 million F-Series models worldwide since the model first rolled off the brand’s production line back in 1947. This cements the truck series as one of the most popular models globally thanks to its great volume of sales.
The milestone achieving unit was a 2022 Ford F-150 Tremor model that was finished in iconic silver. Aside from its Tremor package, the vehicle itself isn’t any special and does not come with any indication that it is the 40-millionth unit aside from its VIN number. While this unit could be a great display piece at the brand’s headquarters, Ford has stated that this model will be delivered to its rightful owner in Texas and will be used like any other F-Series truck
Ford did celebrate the occasion by posing the F-150 with its F-1 Truck, the first generation of the F-Series model. As a bit of a backgrounder, the F-Series of trucks are now in their 14th generation with the recent launch of the newest generation back in 2021.
While the newest Ford F-150 with the Tremor package isn’t available locally, it is available in its Lariat trim with a 4x4 drivetrain. It is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine that produces a healthy amount of horsepower and a mountain of torque to propel the truck forward. It also comes with a competitive price of P3,398,000 which makes it one of the more affordable full-size pickup trucks available in the Philippine market.
It may have taken Ford 75 years to hit the 40-million units sold mark with the F-Series but it just goes to show that many people are still interested in the pickup truck. It also looks like the nameplate will also be around for more years to come as the F-Series has recently embraced a new source of power with the introduction of the Ford F-150 Lightning electric vehicle. It may not have a gasoline or diesel engine under the hood, but it does come with the latest and newest tech available in the market today.
