Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI), in collaboration with the Nissan Kicks e-POWER Club of the Philippines, embarked on a journey to Clark, Pampanga, unveiling the impressive prowess of the Kicks e-POWER's efficient all-electric drive. This occasion doubled as a festive commemoration of the club's inaugural anniversary, serving as a way to kick off the new year.
The team organized a fuel efficiency challenge, attracting more than sixty-three Kicks e-POWER enthusiasts eager to test their vehicles' efficiency capabilities on the journey from Manila to Clark. The start point was at Nissan's North EDSA dealership and featured a pit stop in Marilao, Bulacan, where participants, equipped with a full tank of gas, set out on their journeys. Employing various strategies and techniques, they aimed to optimize every drop of fuel before concluding the drive at the Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort.
Emerging victorious in the competition, Plaridel Arvin Ramos secured an impressive reading of 28.1 kilometers per liter. Founding member Derrick Tan Uy and club participant Marc Ernest Manasan shared the second spot, both achieving an overall reading of 27.7 kilometers per liter. Lastly, Charly Untalan and Jel Directo, club members, were tied for the third position, each boasting a reading of 27.5 kilometers per liter. The awards were presented by the president of Nissan Philippines, Juan Manuel Hoyos.
"We are grateful to Nissan Philippines Inc. for turning this Eco Run into a reality. This event is a big milestone for everyone, and we couldn't have accomplished it without their help. The route consisted of both highway and city driving to make for a more realistic daily driving scenario and the scores achieved exceeded our expectations. We were also able to educate fellow members on how to drive their Kicks efficiently while still keeping the fun factor of driving one."
To wrap up the drive, Nissan Philippines, in collaboration with the Kicks e-POWER Club's founding members, paid a visit to the Duyan ni Maria Children's Home. The team donated pairs of athletic shoes to support the organization. To express gratitude, the talented Duyan ni Maria Children's Choir treated the participants to a special performance.
Sharing his appreciation for the occasion, Juan Manuel Hoyos, President of Nissan Philippines, conveyed, "Today is more than just a celebration of a remarkable vehicle. It's a celebration of a collective vision for a more sustainable and electrifying future on our roads. I congratulate the Kicks e-POWER Club of the Philippines on their first anniversary and I hope to see many more of these events led by our passionate club members."
