The upcoming Peugeot 408 crossover has been teased by the French automaker for some time now. It initially revealed part of the hood and the badging, but this time around the Lion brand has decided to tease the front fascia and rear of the vehicle. While the global reveal for the vehicle is due on June 22, 2022, these teaser images help paint a bigger picture of the vehicle that’s to come.
The first of the teaser images show the front fascia of the vehicle, based on what is shown in the image, the 408 crossover will likely come with a frameless grill design and with the brand’s signature trademark of its lion fang headlights. Aside from this, not much else is known thanks to the camo that is covering the rest of the body lines of the vehicle.

The second teaser, on the other hand, reveals the 408’s dynamic fastback-like design. According to the French automaker, it has “undergone extremely thorough aerodynamic work to optimize air penetration from all angles.” This could indicate that Peugeot is pushing the vehicle to be as aerodynamic as possible in order to get a leg up on its competition when it comes to fuel efficiency. Especially after the file name for the image includes the word PHEV after the 408 name. This could potentially point to it having a plug-in hybrid variant.
Speaking of engine options, aside from the hybrid drivetrain, the Peugeot 408 crossover could also come with the 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine from the Peugeot 2008 or with the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine of the Peugeot 3008 for some extra punch.
