Going on a tight budget during this time of the year is somewhat inevitable, especially when you're someone who's affected by the back-to-school season. So if you are looking for a vehicle that will suffice your needs and support your wallet, we came up with a list of vehicles from Suzuki that are under P700,000.
The Japanese manufacturer offers a wide range of selection from a "mini" subcompact hatchback to a business utility vehicle. Do take note that prices are only accurate for the time being, as the numbers may potentially change without prior notice from the manufacturer.
Only 200mm longer than the Alto, the next good buy from the Japanese automaker is the Celerio subcompact hatchback. Playing under the P600,000 budget, the subcompact car from Suzuki already promises a continuous variable transmission (CVT). The base variant, on the other hand, is integrated with a 5-speed manual transmission (MT).
The slightly bigger Celerio MT is priced at P538,000, while the CVT variant has a retail price of P569,000.
Sit up to 8 individuals inside the Suzuki APV with the expense of only under P700,000. Yup, treat the whole family plus relatives with the brand's all-purpose vehicle without hurting too much of your wallet. In addition, the APV offers extra room for luggage aside from its seating capacity, which is perfect whether you're on a family outing or a business errand.
The APV Panel Van retails at P553,000, while the 1.6L GA MT and Utility Van can be owned for only P588,000 and P630,000, respectively. The APV is also offered in a pickup variant, which is priced at P475,000.
Swift Dzire (P549,000 - 698,000)
If you prefer the exterior look of the Swift but want it with a traditional rear trunk space, this is the one you are looking for. The Suzuki Swift Dzire is relatively cheaper than its hatchback counterpart, with the advantage of additional luggage space and trunk capacity for your extra belongings.
Priced at P579,000, the Suzuki Swift Dzire will perfectly capture your desires.
The Suzuki Swift offers sportier exterior design as compared to the Alto and the Celerio. Available with a 1.2L engine, the subcompact hatch from the Japanese brand also features VVT. This can churn up to 94 hp and 130 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmissions.
The Swift is available with a price tag of P658,000 for the MT variant, and P698,000 for the 1.2L AT.
Contending in the mini-MPV category, the Ertiga has acquired attention in the country with its competitive price range. It can sit 7 people in a 2-3-2 seat layout. A 1.4L inline 4-cylinder engine with VVT available to both 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmissions can be found under its hood, so as a front-wheel drive powertrain.
The Suzuki Ertiga starts at P675,000, which is the GA 1.4L MT. However, if you want more features for your mini-MPV, you would have to go beyond the P700,000 mark. The GL 1.4 MTL sells at P778,000. If you prefer automatic, the GL 1.4L AT goes at P818,000, while the GLX 1.4L AT is at P928,000.
Bonus:
Super Carry (P479,000 - P550,000)
Are you in need of a vehicle that can be used in your start-up/midsize business? The Super Carry could be the answer to your search. It's a vehicle that could carry up to 735 kg-worth of weight and can be configured into different body types. This small utility vehicle is powered by a 0.8L Euro 4 turbodiesel engine with an output of 32 hp and 75 Nm of torque.
Base variant for the Super Carry, which comes with a pickup-like body, starts at P479,000. It is followed up by the Cargo Van configuration with a price of P529,000, while the Jeepney Body is tagged at P550,000. The Utility Van, on the other hand, comes at a retail price of P565,000.
Suzuki S-Presso
The newest and most affordable Suzuki in the lineup is the S-Presso. With its small but tall stature, this small hatchback from the Japanese brand is priced at only P518,000. It only comes in one variant for the Philippine market with one transmission option which is a 5-speed manual stick shift. It comes with a surprisingly spacious interior and enough ground clearance to ease tensions whenever going over bumps and potholes in the city.
