As many will already know, the Chevrolet Corvette C8 has been around in the automotive market for quite some time. While it hasn’t reached the local automotive market just yet, the model has received new variants including a new Z06 model abroad.
If you do a quick check of the Chevrolet Philippines website you will see that the older C7 Corvette Stingray is still being sold. While the automaker did state that they would launch the C8 version in 2021, it looks like it won’t be possible this year. However, it seems that one dealership will soon be accepting orders for the C8 mode according to recent automotive news reports. Reports further state that the new mid-engined Corvette 3LT will even come with a price that is slated to be somewhere in the P9,900,000 area. While buying a C8 Corvette is already possible in the Philippines via other importation methods, or grey market, buying it from a dealership will give you access to a warranty as well as proper services to further help you maintain the vehicle.
With that in mind, here is what you can expect from the Corvette 3LT. It is essentially the top-of-the-line model for the standard Corvette Stingray that is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 489hp and 637 Nm of torque. There is no manual gear version available for the car as it can only be had with 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. With that much horsepower on tap, the Corvette can hit 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds making it a top performer.
On the inside, expect to see a modern-looking dashboard with a massive center console with leather all around. For its seats, the 3LT will come with bucket seats as standard to keep you in place. Other expected features for the vehicle include a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch chevy infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities as well as a Bose 14-speaker sound system.
Chevrolet Philippines has yet to give out an official launch date for the C8 Corvette, however, we would estimate that the automaker will release the new model within the first quarter of 2022 if things go well.
