If you’re a motorist who frequents tollways operated by Metro Pacific Tollways such as; NLEX, SCTEX, CAVITEX, and CCLEX, you will soon be able to traverse San Miguel Corporation-operated tollways like NAIAX, Skyway, and TPLEX as well with just one RFID sticker.
SMC made a recent announcement that on January 15 of next year, motorists who have an Easytrip RFID sticker will be able to register in the AutoSweep system. Soon after registration, motorists will be able to enter MPTC-operated tollways like NLEX, CAVITEX, and SCTEX and SMC tollways like NAIAX, Skyway, and TPLEX seamlessly without needing another RFID sticker plastered on their vehicle.
Don’t go rushing towards the nearest AutoSweep kiosk just yet though, according to SMC’s announcement, only eligible Easytrip RFID stickers will be registered to the AutoSweep system. The only RFID stickers that AutoSweep’s system will recognize are the new “Neology” Easytrip RFIDs.
Prior to registering an Easytrip RFID, AutoSweep personnel will first check if the sticker fitted to a vehicle is compatible with their systems. In terms of whether or not existing Easytrip credits can be used for AutoSweep, SMC said that for now, the credit wallets are still separated for Easytrip and AutoSweep despite using only one sticker. This also means that the process for loading an Easytrip and AutoSweep wallet is still separate and must be loaded individually as they are still two different accounts
To avoid any hassle while registering, SMC notes that drivers should still bring both Easytrip and AutoSweep cards when they register their sticker and vehicle at customer service centers. As for the requirements needed to proceed with registering your Easytrip RFID with AutoSweep, SMC has provided the application form on the AutoSweep website. Completely fill out the application form and then print the form as well as a copy of one government-issued I.D. Once that is done, all that is left to do is to bring the vehicle that has the Easytrip RFID sticker to any AutoSweep kiosks and customer service centers.
In a month’s time motorists will be able to travel seamlessly through Luzon’s expressway network, but, as exciting as the prospect of a unified RFID sticker is, it is best to prepare all of the required documentation and study the guidelines first, for fast and hassle-free registration and an even faster drive.
