The Women's World Car of the Year has released its list of nominees for the 2024 Family Car of the Year. The lineup includes a range of vehicles that accommodate modern transport needs
Founded in 2009 by Sandy Myhre, a motoring journalist from New Zealand, Women's World Car of the Year is the only global car award with a panel of exclusively women motoring journalists. Operating across five continents, the group aims to assess cars based on standard driving considerations like safety, quality, price, and environmental impact. The awards recognize the outstanding cars each year without categorizing them as 'women's cars,' a concept they do not endorse. Vehicles are evaluated based on standard criteria like safety, quality, and price. With Sandy Myhre as Honorary President and Marta García as Executive President, the group brings attention to the role of women in the automotive market, especially regarding decisions on car purchases, reaching an audience of over 500 million globally.
In the electric vehicle segment, the Citroën e-C4 X and Fiat 600e are identified for their electric powertrains and interior layouts.
The list also includes environmentally friendly hybrids like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Hybrid and MG RX5, combining traditional engines with electric motors to lessen emissions and have better fuel economy.
Under the compact SUV category, the Chevrolet Trax and Hyundai Kona are included for their flexibility and adequate use of space, making them ideal for urban life.
The Lexus LBX has been nominated from the luxury category, giving a premium option for families seeking high-end features and functional management of space.
Other nominees include models like the BYD Dolphin, Geely Geometry E, and Honda e:Ny1, known for their technology and features that make them appealing to tech savvy families.
With the announcement of the 2024 Family Car of the Year nominees, the auto industry presents various models suited for family use. The model that best meets the modern family transportation needs will be chosen as the winner.
Stay tuned for more about the 2024 Family Car of the Year nominees and the final selection. We'll see the winners pretty soon, so stick around and see what cars will win and which of those cars will also be available in the Philippines.
