When it comes to the compact sedan market in the Philippines, interested buyers have a lot of vehicles to choose from. However, one vehicle stands out as it comes with sporty and stylish looks, as well as superb handling. Enter Mazda3 sedan, one half of an impressive duo that ticks all the right boxes. That being said here are a couple of reasons why the Mazda3 sedan is a great car and a great choice for those looking to get a premium vehicle.
Award-winning exterior design
If you want a gorgeous vehicle that comes with multiple awards under its belt for its design, then look no further than the Mazda3 in its Sedan and Sportback forms. The Mazda3 sedan goes with the brand’s Kodo design philosophy where “less is more” and it shows. There aren’t too many distracting lines and creases in the vehicle, but despite this, it’s well-executed and gives off a premium look and flow to the design. While its Sportback counterpart goes for a more sporty and emotive look, the sedan goes with a more elegant theme.
The Mazda3 was able to win the 2020 world car design of the year for 2020 and was also able to win a Red Dot design award for its design. With that said, if you want a great-looking vehicle, then you might want to consider getting a Mazda3.
To match its gorgeous exterior the Mazda3 sedan also comes with a premium interior. It comes with dark and subtle leather found all over the cabin and even comes with brown stitching accents to add a bit of color to the interior. While its infotainment system is now found above the dashboard it is angled in such a way that the driver can easily see it at a glance. Touch controls aren’t present for the head unit, however, Mazda has provided a control knob to utilize its function. While it may take a bit of time to get used to, the learning curve isn’t that sharp and will easily become second nature to you. You can really tell that Mazda has put thought into this vehicle as even the sound of the indicators has been changed to give off a more premium vibe.
Great handling
Mazda has taken a different approach when it comes to its vehicles. While other manufacturers focus more on newer technologies and features, this Japanese automaker has decided to focus on handling instead. This can be felt in the interior of the vehicle as the driver sits slightly closer to the floor. Aside from this the Mazda3 also comes with superb handling that makes it easy to maneuver even through winding roads. The automaker has done well to incorporate its “Jinba Ittai” philosophy into the sedan and it shows not only through its design but also through its handling characteristics.
Powerful engine options
Under the hood, the Mazda3 sedan can be had with two naturally aspirated gasoline engines. The first is a 1.5-liter that produces 109 hp and 146 Nm of torque, while the bigger displacement 2.0-liter motor makes 152 hp and 200 Nm. Both engine options can be had with a 6-speed automatic transmission. While these may not look like much on paper, these engine options blend well with the handling characteristics of the vehicle giving you just the right amount of grunt while maintaining a smooth and confidence-inspiring ride.
Great fuel efficiency
Thanks to the SkyActiv technology found in its two available engine options, the Mazda 3 sedan is frugal when it comes to fuel. During our testing with the vehicle, we were able to get 8.6 km/L in crawling traffic, while on the highway the sedan was able to push out 23.3 km/L. Overall great fuel efficiency figures and something to take note of especially with the rising prices of gasoline. If you want to get a premium-looking vehicle that comes with great styling and isn’t a gas guzzler then the Mazda3 sedan might just be for you.
