The Ford Mustang Mach-E is Ford’s newest all-electric vehicle to be officially added to its model lineup. It is important to note that while the Mach-E does carry the Ford Mustang name it's an entirely different vehicle. The electric vehicle (EV) is more geared to being a commuter vehicle rather than one for outright performance. Ford, however, has decided to do something special with the new nameplate with a one-of-a-kind prototype in the form of the Mustang Mach-E 1400 through a collaboration with RTR vehicles.
The Mustang Mach-E 1400 follows in the heels of another one-off performance electric vehicle that the Blue Oval has made in the form of the Mustang Cobra Jet 1400. It takes the principles learned through the drag racing oriented vehicle and adjusts it for use in multiple racing disciplines instead of just one. Similar to that of its drag racing counterpart the Mach-E 1400 also produces roughly about 1,400 horsepower from seven electric motors and comes with a top speed of 257 km/h. Three out of the seven motors are attached to the front differential and the remaining four are attached to the rear with a single drive shaft connecting the two. This gives the one-off electric performance car a huge range of adjustability that lets the car be set up for almost everything from drifting to high-speed track racing.
Now is the perfect time to leverage electric technology, learn from it, and apply it to our lineup
He continues by stating that “Mustang Mach-E is going to be fun to drive, just like every other Mustang before it, but Mustang Mach-E 1400 is completely insane, thanks to the efforts of Ford Performance and RTR.”
While the Mustang Mach-E is just a one of a kind vehicle it does demonstrate in a pretty fun way how the future of performance electric vehicles is looking brighter than ever. With technology steadily advancing and with the push for cleaner and alternative means of mobility, we could very well see electric vehicles going mainstream soon in the Philippine automotive industry.
