San Miguel Corporation (SMC) finally opened the Skyway Extension northbound section last Sunday, April 11. Now, 2 out of the 3 lanes are currently open to motorists, plus, access is free until further notice.
I am proud to announce to motorists from the south that finally, our long-awaited Skyway Extension northbound section is finally open. Our long-term solution to addressing traffic particularly on SLEX heading to the Alabang area has finally been realized.
The newly accomplished road spans about 4 km stretching all the way from Susana Heights to Sucat in Parañaque City. Class 1 vehicles with RFID stickers are granted access since April 11, this is followed by the structural completion and asphalt-laying in March. Notably, the extension project provides a direct link to the Skyway system for motorists coming from Laguna, Batangas, and Cavite motorists, bypassing the Alabang viaduct.
Ramon Ang even acknowledged the support of the Philippine government through President Rodrigo Duterte’s ‘Build, Build, Build’ team that helped SMC in completing the Skyway Extension project.
I’d like to thank too, the local government of Muntinlupa and our private sector stakeholders, without whom we could not have gotten this done. Most of all, thank you to our motorists, for bearing with us. We are excited for you to finally be able to feel the benefits of this new project.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar, on the other hand, stated that this newly accomplished road is a testament to what the government and the private sector can achieve together. Aside from that, he also expressed his confidence in achieving President Duterte’s promise of decongesting EDSA by 2022 with the help of this Skyway Extension project by SMC. For a more in-depth look, here’s a clip from SMC’s YouTube channel giving a virtual tour of its Skyway Extension northbound section.
