Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) confirmed that it will launch a limited edition variant of the City – their only locally manufactured vehicle. This special version of the Japanese automaker’s subcompact sedan will feature exclusive exterior and safety upgrades.
The new Limited Edition City, which is based on the E CVT variant, will come with daytime running lights (DRL) and window visors. The former adds style and visibility on the road, while the latter complement the car’s stylish character and adds convenience when it’s raining. Moreover, the new variant gives its upcoming owners a sense of exclusivity with its limited edition badge.
Aside from that, HCPI upgraded the safety features of the new City. They are now adding speed-sensing auto door locks that locks all doors once the vehicle reaches 15 km/h. It will also unlock them once shift lever is moved to Park (P).
Moreover, the Wave Key (the moniker they use for their remote keys) of the new City will now have a panic button. In case of emergency, this button will activate a loud alarm and flash the car's head and park lights to get the attention of people nearby.
This new variant of the City still comes with the 120 hp 1.5L i-VTEC gasoline engine, which is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with Earth Dreams Technology. Combine these with the Eco Assist system, the City is poised to provide maximum fuel efficiency.
The new Limited Edition Honda City E CVT will be available with a price tag of P824,000 on September 14, 2016 in the following colors; Taffeta White, Gold Brown Metallic, or Ruby Red Pearl.
