Suzuki Jimny Celerio update

Suzuki’s small SUV and hatchback get 1-Up this year. Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPI) upgrades the Jimny and the Celerio with safety and convenience features. The good news is, the price tags stay the same even with the updates.

The add-ons to the Suzuki Jimny are mainly to its safety features. The JLX—both automatic and manual transmission variants—now have Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), which is essential to prevent skidding during sudden stops.

Moreover, both variants are also equipped with SRS airbags for the driver and front passenger. Adventures with this small 2-door 4x4 are now much safer with these new features added to its spec sheet.

On the other hand, the Celerio small hatchback gets pimped up inside its cabin. The Department of Energy’s (DOE) reigning most fuel-efficient gasoline-powered car is awarded with a touchscreen head unit at the center of its dashboard. It’s also navi-ready, which is quite an essential these days.

For parking convenience, the Celerio is fitted reverse parking sensors. Not only will it ease the way you park, it will also make sure that your wallet is safe from unwanted damages to your car.

As mentioned, these upgrades won’t merit additional costs. This will save you as much as P25,000 worth of aftermarket accessories if you buy the touchscreen head unit and reverse parking sensors separately. Good deal, if you ask us.

The Suzuki Jimny JLX AT is priced at P895,000; MT variant is at P840,000; the Celerio CVT has a price tag of P538,000; and MT is at P569,000.
