GAC has been cooking up some big things. After the recent global launch of its "Go and Change" campaign, it seems the Chinese brand is ready to take its models in a brand new direction. In the Middle Eastern market, two all-new releases are in the pipeline—the GS4 compact crossover and the GA6 mid-size sedan.
The GS4 has been in the local scene since 2018, and it's overdue for an update. While we won't be getting the new model just yet, this could be a preview of what's to come.
The 2022 GS4 features a new sculpted light and shadow design concept, plus a floating roof design that's poised to give the crossover a compelling look. GAC has also updated the GS4's interior. It now features a dual-screen dashboard display and a roomier 1570mm of cabin space. The GS4 gets a 270T engine that makes 124 hp and 265 Nm of torque. Note that our market may not get the same power plant option.
GAC's other new release, the GA6, has not been present in the Philippines, although it would be a welcome addition to the mid-size sedan segment. The new model also features the light and shadow design concept to give the GA6 a sporty and dynamic exterior. It reportedly gets a larger cabin and creature comforts like touchscreen controls and wireless charging. Aside from that, the 2022 GA6 apparently gets 184 LEDs in the taillights. What that would look like is anyone's guess at this point.
The all-new GS4 and GA6 will launch in Saudi Arabia in a few weeks. The exact date is not yet known, so we'll have to wait and see when GAC makes the announcement. It will be worth watching, as it could be a taste of what the brand has in store for the Philippines.
