Nissan Qashqai 1000km Drive Sardinia

Currently, we’re enjoying the Nissan Kicks, and the fact that Nissan is also looking to double down on its e-Power technology for the Philippine market, and one of the models we’re excited at the prospect of is the X-Trail, which was mentioned heavily in one special event organized by Nissan.

However, it was the Qashqai that achieved this figure, slightly bigger than the Kicks, but smaller than the X-trail. Plus, the model also gets a 55-liter fuel tank, similar to the X-Trail. We can only assume that the X-Trail, has the potential to get close to this level of fuel efficiency, at least for now. Being a bigger and heavier car, however, 1,000 kilometers might be a big ask.

Anyway, the Nissan drive was conducted across Sardinia, Italy, where a bunch of content creators documented and logged their experiences driving the gasoline-electric crossover against sprawling landscapes and winding roads but all on just one tank of gas.

According to the WLTP combined fuel consumption rating, the Qashqai achieves up to 5.2 L/100km which translates to 19.23 km/L in mixed driving conditions. That allows the Qashqai to achieve a theoretical range of 1,057 km and it’s not just the frugal nature of the car’s engine that allows it to achieve this, as other things like the e-Pedal Step system, and the B-mode allows the battery to regenerate its power over the course of a long drive.

During the trip, the team of Qashqais was able to achieve a total average of 4.9 L/100km, or 20.4 km/L, or the theoretical equivalent of 1,122 km. This figure, combined with the challenge, helps cement e-Power as one of the premier gateway technology for full-EV driving without the need to recharge.
