Honda Civic Si 2017

Honda has staged the world debut of the 2017 Civic Si prototype at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show. It features an aggressive-looking exterior, similar to its sedan, hatchback, and coupe siblings.

The Civic Si wears a Rallye Red Pearl exterior paint and it is equipped with a full Honda Factory Performance (HFP) aero kit, which includes front and rear splitters as well as a rear spoiler. In addition, it is fitted with a center-mounted polygonal exhaust and a set of 19-inch forged aluminum alloy wheels.

On the other hand, Honda says the interior of the prototype Si “closely previews” the production model. It has Si-exclusive front sport seats with red stitching, including stitched Si logos. The red sport stitching can also be seen on the door panels, steering wheel, and gear lever. More so, the Si interior also sport a red driver's thin film transistor (TFT) meter and audio system illumination, aluminum sport pedals, and “dry metal carbon” instrument panel trim.

The 2017 Civic Si is powered by a turbocharged 1.5L engine with dual variable cam timing (dual VTC). The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Honda has yet to announce the official power output rating of the Civic Si.

The Civic Si Coupe and Sedan are scheduled to be launched next year. As of this writing, there are no reports as to if and when Honda Philippines will offer the Civic Si.
